Yorkshireman Half Marathon Report, 12 September 2010

Mark Harney worked up a thirst at this tough race held in Haworth – read all about it in his report by clicking here:

Distance:  14.8 miles

Result:  Mark Harney -2 hours & 7 minutes

Weather conditions: Pleasantly warm

This is my second running of this race and I use it as a training run before the GNR!! Whilst I find it a very tough race, it gives you a real sense of satisfaction once you’ve completed it.   As predominately a road race runner, I actually get to appreciate how hard you fell runners, really have to work and the benefits you get from running up and down dale.  This race is well marshalled for the most part; however on top of the moors there are a few challenging sections. I do think they could do with a water stop before the 7 mile point, although I suppose, there’s always the option to carry your own!!  I feel much happier now, going on to tackle the GNR next weekend having done this race.  Wish me and the other odd 40,000 runners LUCK.
