Mark Harney has felt the pull of the hills and went across to the Lakes to take part in the Langdale Half marathon. Read all about it here… well done Mark:
Result: Mark Harney 1.36, 30th - 385 ran
Weather conditions: Beautiful autumn sunshine
Report: Although this is a very challenging course compared to my run last weekend, when you see the views it makes it all worthwhile!! As we set off for the first of many hills, I could feel my calf’s tighten up, not a good sign with another 12 miles to go. Anyway it would be wrong to stop so soon in a race, so I soldiered on. And at the end I was quite happy with my time and place. I have to take my hat off to those very hardy runners, who go on to complete the full marathon course – you’re simply brilliant. If you’ve ever fancied running a tough, but beautiful half marathon, then sign up for this one next year. Camped over the weekend at the National Trust camp site half a mile away, all good. Might rest now for a week or two or should I???
