Training Relay Tuesday 24th May

Find out about this training event from the Acorn Club….

This is a relay on Hob Moor (opposite the Acorn Club) with 4 legs of about a mile each. The race is for teams of 2 runners who will run 2 legs each, but the race is handicapped as a faster runner will be paired with a slower one. To help organise this you will be asked for your best recent 10k time or if you haven’t done one, an estimated time. The running order will be 1st leg faster runners, 2nd leg slower runners, 3rd leg faster runners, 4th leg slower runners. Hopefully some of the City of York runners including juniors will be running and some of the younger runners will only run 1 leg, so there could be teams of 3 or 4.  There are prizes for the first 2 teams. It would be helpful if members intending to take part email us in advance with their 10k time using the website email facility.

The club is also organising a rugby ball relay before out ‘main event’ for the Acorn Rugby club juniors which will take place before our training relay.  The refreshment kiosk will be open and it is hoped to have a barbeque, weather permitting.
