Nicky Spinks is speaking at York Acorn on 24 November.

Nicky Spinks is a 49 year old beef farmer from Glossop. Until this year she was also the women’s record holder (still 2nd) for the Bob Graham Round, the Paddy Buckley round (Wales) and the Ramsay round (Scotland). All of these were completed in between numerous wins and placings at classic fell races such as the Fellsman (winning 4 times) and Borrowdale, as well as many mountain ultra races abroad such as the UTMB (12th lady in 2016) and winning the Grand Raid Pyrenees in 2011.

In short, one of Britain’s greatest ever fell and mountain runners!

In May this year, to celebrate 10 years since her diagnosis with breast cancer, Nicky ran the iconic fell running challenge, the Bob Graham Round – twice – all within 48 hours. She finished in 45 hours and 30 minutes, becoming the first lady to complete “the Double Bob”, and taking the overall record in the process.

Want to hear more about this, and her other epic adventures, and maybe pick up some top tips for your own running? Or just want to meet one of your heroes? Now is your chance! Hosted by York Acorn Running Club, Nicky will be coming to York on Thursday 24th November to present a film and give a talk on her adventures, followed by a curry and a Q&A session.
